School Hours and Attendance Procedures

Halifax Elementary School uses PickUp Patrol for parents to report absences and communicate dismissal plan changes. This eliminates the need for notes, emails or phone calls.  When a change is made in PickUp Patrol both the student's teacher and the front office is notified of the change.

Daily Attendance/Dismissal Changes

We use PickUp Patrol Dismissal System to help manage dismissal time and for parents to communicate changes to their student’s regular dismissal plans. We will dismiss your child based on the dismissal information in PickUp Patrol so be sure to confirm the default dismissal plan. New parents will receive an email with instructions for how to register. Changes can be entered from a smartphone or computer in advance and at any time up until 12:45pm on the day of the change. (Cut-off times on early dismissal days is 11:30am.)  

After 12:45pm, changes will not be accepted except in the case of an emergency. The end of the school day is a busy time. To ensure the safety of all students, please plan accordingly and limit these exceptions to emergencies only.

Absence, Late Arrival and Early Dismissal Reporting 

If your student will be absent from school, report the absence using PickUp Patrol by 9:30am on the day of the absence. This will eliminate you receiving a notification from the school that your child is absent.
