Massachusetts Department of Education site on special education. The second link is the main site for the Massachusetts Department of Education.
Mental health information including diagnoses, medications, articles and internet links
National Institute of Mental Health. The lead federal agency for mental health research provides information about symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment for childhood and adult disorders. Website includes brochures, fact sheets, and reports.
Lists symptoms, causes, treatments, prevention options, and more for a wide variety of children's mental health problems and issues.
Anxiety Disorders and most other conditions are listed alphabetically under pediatric problems. Provides information, including symptoms, treatment, and helpful books
The Anxiety Disorders Association of America web site. Materials are available on anxiety disorders in children, adolescents and young adults.
Asperger Syndrome Collation of the United States, Inc. is a national, non-profit organization that provides current, comprehensive information on Asperger's Disorder and related conditions including pervasive developmental disorder not other wise specified, high-function autism, nonverbal learning disability, semantic-pragmatic disorder, and hyperlexia

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder) home page. CHADD works to improve the lives of people with AD/HD through education, advocacy and support.
Center for the Study of Autism - links, research, and other information
Cure Autism Now is an organization of parents, scientists, and clinicians dedicated to finding effective treatments and a cure for autism. Cure Autism Now established the Autism Genetic Resource Exchange, the largest genetic resource of families with more than one child with autism in the country
The Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders (CCBD) is the official division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) committed to promoting and facilitating the education and general welfare of children and youth with behavioral and emotional disorders
A site about Borderline Personality Disorder
Visions for Tomorrow is an educational course for parents and other caregivers of children who have been diagnosed with brain disorders as well as those who exhibit behavior that strongly suggests such a diagnosis. The Visions curriculum balances educational materials and skills training with self-care, emotional support and empowerment.

NLD line for nonverbal learning disabilities. Nonverbal learning disabilities are often accompanied by anxiety, depression, and other disorders.
The OC Foundation is a non-profit organization composed of people with obsessive-compulsive disorder, their families, friends, professionals and other concerned individuals. The Foundation is dedicated to early intervention in controlling and finding better treatments for OCD, and for improving the welfare of people with this disorder

The Sensory Integration Resource Center provides parents, teachers, occupational therapists, physicians, and researches with online Sensory Integration resources.
The American Association of Suicidology is comprised of mental health professionals, suicide prevention center volunteers, and survivors of suicide. Its purposes are to provide education to the public about methods of suicide prevention. It disseminates literature, newsletters, and other materials pertinent to suicide prevention.
The Tourette's Syndrome Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization of patients, their families, friends, and health care professionals. The Association maintains a library of information and provides written material to professionals and families. It serves as a clearinghouse of information regarding Tourette's Syndrome.

Parent/Professional Advocacy League is an organization that promotes a strong voice for families of children and adolescents with mental health needs. PAL advocates for support, treatment, and policies that enable families to live in their communities in an environment of stability and respect.
Bright Futures in Practice: Mental Health (2002) is a two volume set considering the mental health of children in a developmental context, presenting information on early recognition and intervention for specific mental health problems and mental disorders, and providing a tool kit with hands on tools for health professionals and families for use in screening, care management and health education.
Federation for Children with Special Needs provides material related to special education in Massachusetts and on the national; resources for parents, including a camp resource directory, family resource directory, and listing of family support organizations for parents of children with disabilities.
The Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health is a national parent-run organization focused on the needs of children and youth with emotional, behavioral, or mental disorders and their families. Includes the principles of the system of care
National Mental Health Services Knowledge Exchange Network. A source of information and resources on prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services for mental illness. Offers online database of mental health resources around the community.
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill website. Links, articles, and legislation updates.
BrainWonders website. Information about how the brain develops, within the context of relationships, from conception through age three. Information for parents, caregivers, and pediatric and family clinicians
Zero to Three is a nonprofit charitable organization whose goal is to strengthen and support families, practitioners, and communities to promote health development of babies and toddlers. Site contains resources and information for parents and early childhood professionals.
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Massachusetts chapter - Website with links, articles, and legislation updates.
The Office of Patient Protection, located in the Department of Public Health, is available to assist insured health plan members with questions and concerned regarding managed care grievances, appeals, denials of care, continuity of care, and independent external reviews.

The Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee (MHLAC) exists to secure and protect the legal rights of persons involved in mental health and retardation programs in the commonwealth

A website with state-by-state of private insurance coverage as well as a glossary of insurance terms and policies. Indicates whether they are in effect in your state.
Health Care For All provides information about health care and the health care systems. Their work combines policy analysis, information referral, personal and legal advocacy, community organizing, and public education.

The Center for School Mental Health Assistant offers technical assistance and training to advance effective interdisciplinary school based mental health programs.
The Disability Law Center is a private non-profit public interest law firm providing free legal assistance and information to people with disabilities throughout Massachusetts.
Research and Training Center for Children's Mental Health produces Data Trends, which summarizes the latest research findings in children's mental health
American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a professional medical organization comprised of child and adolescent psychiatrists trained to promote healthy development and to evaluate, diagnose, and teat children and adolescents and their families who are affected by disorders of feeling, thinking and behavior. Of special interest is a series of informational pamphlets called "Facts for Families" which may be seen and printed out from the website.
the Juvenile Justice Clearinghouse provides information about various departments and agencies in each state, including links to other resources
Easter Seals works to identify the needs of people with disabilities and to provide appropriate developmental and rehabilitation services.
M-Power is a member run organization of mental health consumers and current and former psychiatric patients. M-Power advocates for political and social change within the mental health system, the community, city and state.

School Mental Health Project at UCLA is a national technical assistance center addressing promotion of mental health through school-based interventions
Boston Public Health Commission's website with resources, warning signs, and statistics about youth mental health issues.
Wrights Law Homepage. A great resource for educational law information.
The Head Start Bureau's website provides information about the Head Start Program and resources for providers and parents around mental health.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) website provides information on mental health resources, statistics and data, grant and funding opportunities, policies, and more.
