Civil War Research Paper
The Civil War is the point in history that Americans accurately describe as the time when slavery ended. Although slavery was no longer a legal institution in the United States, many problems still existed between white Americans and African Americans. Your research for this assignment must answer the following question:
What role did race play in the Civil War and its aftermath?
To answer this questions, you may selct one of the four sub-topics below:
*The role of the African Americans in the war effort
*Abraham Lincoln's personal views on race.
*The Emancipation Proclamation's function and purpose.
*Evaluating the black reconstruction governments.
