About the Library

The library houses 17,000 items including  over 2,900 reference books, 110 audio books, 575 videos/DVDs, and
30 periodicals.  Library materials can be checked out for up to three weeks and may be renewed.  There are many online resources available to students at school and home via our school library website.  In addition to a separate library classroom with twenty five computers, there are twenty one  computers in the main library. Student have access to  the main library computers before and after school, as well as during the day with a pass or class visit.

Online resources are funded by the Silver Lake school budget, the Southeastern Massachusetts Library System, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Online databases include periodicals, journals, newspapers, reference books, and more. They may be accessed for home use with passwords available below.

The Department of Education's  set of web-based tools for communication and collaboration.  Students may be part of classroom workgroups and can save their work at school to their MassONE account for access at home.

A nation-wide free 24/7 reference collaborative between libraries.

My Own Café

A place where teens in Southeastern Massachusetts can find out what other  local teens are talking about, reading, listening to, watching, playing, and doing. It's a place to find information and post information. It's a place to do research and get help with research. Students need to use their public library card to register.
