Attention graduating members of the National Honor Society! You must see Mrs. Pruyn to complete your service logs and submit summary sheets, if you have not already done so. When this obligation is completed, you will receive your gold cord to wear at graduation.

Just a reminder that the induction and final meeting will take place on Thursday, May 17th after school in Room 2310. We will have pizza and drinks as we celebrate a year of service and look forward to another one for next year! See you there!

Attention all students with permission to park! Beginning Monday, May 21st and continuing through Thursday, May 31st, the upper parking lot will be open to SENIORS ONLY. This is to accommodate the senior final exam schedule and graduation rehearsal. We respectfully ask that all juniors park in the lower lot during this time period. On June 4th, the upper lot will re-open to all juniors with permission to park. If you have any questions, please see your Housemaster.

Looking for a way to say goodbye to your senior friends? Let the Laker Legend do it for you! For $1 we will send a bag of Hershey Kisses and a note to “kiss a senior goodbye!” You can fill out a card at lunch or before or after school in room 1308.

Do you still want to make a donation to B.E.A.M.? All donation bins for gifts, cards and money for the B.E.A.M. of Hope Foundation are now located in the Main Office. In addition, you can also purchase buttons, bracelets, and you can pick up an order form for necklaces or t-shirts. If you have any questions, please stop by the Main Office.

Voter Registration will be held for Silver Lake Regional High School students on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 10:30AM to 12:00 Noon during lunch outside the Cafeteria.

Who can register? Students who will be 18 years of age on or before September 6, 2012 (the next election: a primary for National, State, and county offices). Students who will be 18 on or before the November 6 election can register to vote between September 7 & October 15, 2012.

To be eligible to vote in Massachusetts, you must be a Massachusetts resident and U.S. citizen who will be at least 18 years old on the day of the next election in which you are eligible to vote; you cannot be under legal guardianship with respect to voting; in prison; or convicted of election fraud (even if the prison term is completed). In order to vote, you must also have registered.

A Massachusetts resident who becomes a citizen of the United States after the voter registration deadline has passed may register to vote at their town or city hall until 4:00PM on the day preceding the primary or election.

What do you need to register? Students need to include their Driver’s License number or the last four numbers of their S.S.# on the registration. Proof of residency must include your name and address and is a copy of any of the following:
- current and valid drivers license
- current and valid photo id
- government check or document
- current utility bill
- pay check or stub

Listen up Seniors! All students must complete 40 hours of community service in order to graduate. All hours must be submitted to Guidance no later than Friday, May 4th or you run the risk of not participating in graduation. Therefore, turn in your logged hours to Guidance as soon as possible and see your guidance counselor if you have any questions!
